I am a registered nurse working for the Health Department in Tasmania and as I work in the schools primarily, these books are an excellent resources for our young kids.

I was sitting in my hairdresser’s today and picked up your book on advice to young people. It’s so informative and easy to read.

Being the mother of 4 children (3 girls and 1 boy). I found the handbook to be a helpful reference during their teenage years. The information was easy to read and had good sound advice. I would encourage anyone with children to have a copy at hand for themselves and the children.

The NT Streetsmart Handbook were a valuable resource to have available. We have used the handbook to startup a program for children in the Katherine region.

We are a company in Alice Springs (NT) that paid to advertise in this book & received a copy through the mail. I am a parent of a 15 year old boy & found it absolutely fantastic & have never seen anything like it. I was showing a couple of my work colleagues & we all said we would love to buy a copy of this. I have given the copy we got to a friend who has a young daughter in hospital with an eating disorder & she apparently hasn’t put it down.

These books are excellent for our year 11 and 12 students, they have so many helpful resources. Please send us more copies of the TAS handbook for our students.

The Street Smart Handbook is a fabulous idea and initiative. As a teacher and parent I have seen first hand the advantages of having one simple resource containing so much valuable information. Parents, generally, can be overwhelmed at how much their children need to know to be successful in life. Much of this information is not contained in the core learning of students as teachers try to get through the essential learning. An area that is continually skipped over in current education is “life skills”. This product takes a very thorough approach to explaining topics in “kid speak” which are highly relevant and required as young adults bridge the gap from school to future pursuits. Overall I have never seen any product this relevant and this good that is sadly missing from many educational institutions.

A very well written publication. The minute I started reading it, I knew it was exactly what I was looking for that I could distribute to our Year 11 and Year 12 students. All appropriate topics for young adults are well written. We will subscribe to this publication annually as long as it is available.

I am the Career Teacher at Grovedale College I have used your hand copy version of Street Smart  with Year 10 students. Students and teachers have provided very positive feedback re content and topics These resources are used in our Focus Group sessions that we have with year 10 students every Friday fortnight during a 100 minute double session ( for about 4 week).

The NSW Streetsmart Handboook is a great resource with handy, useful and relevant information for senior students. It has complemented our student well-being program and the sessions we run in collaboration with U Turn the Wheel and Paul Dillon’s Drugs and Alcohol Talks. A very valuable resource that can assist our students with their social awareness and development of skills they need to use through sometimes complex issues which will confront their lives.

Our Health curriculum teachers find them a great resource for our Year 11 students. We find placing one into each of their hands at this pivotal time in their lives is extremely beneficial as they are filled with relevant information, and we believe the students engage with them really positively.

I found that the handbook was a great tool for young people, with easy to read and useful information. I would encourage any young person leaving school or moving out of home to have this on hand as a quick “how to” guide to adulting!

I’ve just had look at the Streetsmart handbook that was sent to me and found it to be informative and useful especially for young people transitioning toward adulthood. I would like to receive the electronic version of the Streetsmart handbook which will be emailed to my year 11 students.

We found the materials in the handbook useful for our senior students as it helps to engrain some of the messages, we are attempting to convey across the senior school experience. We have a similar focus at Year 11 on healthy bodies and healthy minds. Thanks again for the resources.

I am touching base with you today as our school is hoping to have an electronic copy of the latest Streetsmart Handbook. We believe it’s a valuable resource that will assist us with our wellbeing program and we would like our staff to have a copy.

I recently attended the Neighbourhood watch international conference at Sea World where I came across the above resource. I currently work with 18-25 year old clients whom are in the criminal justice system working toward offering support and making positive behavioural change in the community. I believe these books would be of great assistance to help with upskilling and learning more about becoming an adult.

I had a good look at the book and thought that the resources are relevant for the current Y11, next year’s year 12, so I showed it to our HT wellbeing and asked if we should have a copy for each y12 student so we can use it as a resource and base our Study Skills Lessons on it. HT wellbeing agreed and we would like to use it as a resource So, the resource is for the 2022 study skills lessons, where we address wellbeing, careers, and study/learning issues.

I am writing firstly to say what a fantastic resource the Street-smart Handbook is for young adults, the articles and links are contemporary and relevant. I work within a collaborative group of secondary school nurses in the south west area of Victoria at the DET. Is there a way we could order handbooks for our schools? I know the reach is great, but if there is a subsidised subscription for schools in need?   I’m reaching out on behalf of our department to ask the best way about schools having this handbook reach 16–17-year-old students?
